1:12 Ducati 888 Superbike ´93

Art.Nr.: 300014063 Artikelbezeichnung: 1:12 Ducati 888 Superbike ´93 About the Ducati 888 Superbike Racer On the 26th of September 1993, a young and inspiring motorcycle racer named Tetsuya Harada was adding the final touches to his machine at the Jarama racing circuit, just prior tot he last round of the season. This would make him the first Japanese World Champion since 1977. His closest rival, Loris Capirossi, was ahead in point standings going into this last race, but bad luck plagued him during the dynamic battle for the 250cc GP2 title. Although this was Harada's debut season for the World Grand Prix, he had been working closely with Yamaha for the last couple of seasons, perfecting the works TZM bike, which allowed him to win the 1992 All Japan Championship title. The 1993 Yamaha TZ250M used a 249cc liquid cooled V-twin cylinder engine capable of 94 horsepower. Its crankcase reed valve induction system was combined with an electronically controlled exhaust valve system. The highly sophisticated six-speed gear box used an electronic cut-out gear changing system that eliminated clutch operation and minimized racing stresses. This awesome powerplant was mounted on Yamaha's exceptionally rigid twin-spar box-section aluminum frame that was capable of head angle adjustments. The rear suspension was also of box-sectioned aluminum to withstand the enormous power and traction. The bike rides on Marchesini cast magnesium wheels matched to Dunlop radial tires. The superb stopping power was achieved by front Brembo and rear Nissin Brake systems.

1:12 Honda VFR 750R 1987

Art.Nr.: 300014057 Artikelbezeichnung: 1:12 Honda VFR 750R 1987 About the Honda VFR750R Honda's release of their limited production, road-going, "works racer" VFR750R made headlines in the motorcycle scene in 1987. The VFR750R is a street-legal counterpart of the formidable RVF750 endurance racer which displayed remarkable potential in the world endurance championships. This bike follows the concept seen in the RVF750, including the use of space-age technology and components such as titanium, carbon-fiber, kevlar, and magnesium. It betters the earlier bikes by a wide margin. The VFR750R also uses a twin-spar aluminum box frame, Pro-Arm (rear swing arm), and a center-lock hub rear wheel. These superlative features and the RVF's racing reputation have made it a collector's item even before the first unit was off the production line. The 748cc, liquid cooled, V4 cylinder 16 valve engine has been kept compact to keep the VFR's overall dimensions very close to the current 500cc Grand Prix racers, for a minimum frontal area. Further, this motorcycle departs from the typical Japanese mass-production practice by using a great deal of human labor on each unit, such as the FRP cowling and windscreen being laid up by hand. The Honda VFR750R is one potent package and has been designed to be very competitive on racing tracks in stock form, yet remain street legal. It will remain a desirable and elusive high performance bike for years to come.

1:12 Yamaha YZF-R1 1000ccm 1997 Street

Art.Nr.: 300014073 Artikelbezeichnung: 1:12 Yamaha YZF-R1 1000ccm 1997 Street At the Motorcycle Show held in Milan, Italy, in September of 1997, the Yamaha YZF-R1 supersport motorcycle made its debut. Sporting a powerful 1000cc engine, it has the compact construction of a 400cc bike. The YZF-R1 was developed for maximum possible cornering ability in a production motorcycle. With a 1000cc water-cooled, four stroke, 4-cylinder, 5-valve engine and adopting a redesigned EXUP exhaust system, it pumps out 150hp of high-intensity power. Subtle throttle control makes both superb acceleration response and rhythmic cornering a reality. The Deltabox II aluminum frame was sought after not only for its rigidity, but more so for its moderate flexibility during tight cornering. With the addition of a long span aluminum swing arm, high control ability has been achieved. By adopting an upside-down front fork, stroke distance has been increased and traction heightened. Boasting a sharp form with multi-reflector lights, the YZF-R1 has been given an unprecedented style. From the contact points between the rider and motorcycle, right down to the material used in the seat and tank, the YZF-R1 has been thoroughly studied. Of course, the abundance of high precision and high quality parts goes without saying. Designed to cruise at high speeds on winding roads, the YZF-R1 shatters expectations about large exhaust engine motorcycles. Yamaha has expanded the possibilities of a 1000cc bike.

1:16 Kübelwagen Type 82 Afrika Korps

Art.Nr.: 300036202 Artikelbezeichnung: 1:16 Kübelwagen Type 82 Afrika Korps Kubelwagen-Africa Version Because of its reliability and ease of repair, and since its engine did not require a coolant, the Kubelwagen proved particularly effective in North Africa. At the request of various divisions in North Africa for a vehicle suitable for the desert, a Continental balloon tire equipped version went into production from 1942. 1:18 McLaren M8A Can-Am 1968

Art.Nr.: 300010008 Artikelbezeichnung: 1:18 McLaren M8A Can-Am 1968 1966 saw the inauguration of the Canadian-American Challenge Cup (CAN-AM), which raced two-seater, open-top machines with unlimited engine displacements. Although held domestically, this unique series saw many F1 drivers in attendance and quickly gained popularity due to the dynamic performances of the high-powered machines. It became one of the most exciting race categories after Formula One and the World Sports Car Championship. Founded by F1 driver Bruce McLaren in 1963, Bruce McLaren Motor Racing raced CAN-AM and F1 GP beginning in 1966. The 1966 CAN-AM season saw B. McLaren drive the McLaren M1B to the 3rd place overall ranking. The following year, he drove the M6A and won the championship, which led to the team's successful period. In 1968, the team entered the M8A which was lighter, had enhanced aerodynamics, and adapted the same monocoque structure of F1 machines of the day with an engine firmly connected to the rear bulkhead. The wedge-shaped body produced an increased down force effect and featured air intakes with NASA ducts. It was powered by a 620hp Chevrolet V8 7-liter engine with eight 40cm long air funnels. In this six race series, D. Hulme and B. McLaren drove the M8A and took 3 and 1 wins respectively to dominate the season. Not resting on their laurels, the M8A continually evolved with the M8B, M8D, and M8F respectively. Despite the tragic test drive accident that involved B. McLaren in 1970, the team swept the CAM-AM series, taking 5 consecutive championships from 1967 to 1971. The Tamiya model of this iconic race car was originally released in 1969 as a motorized kit. The re-release is a static model only and the decals have been created by renowned decal maker Cartograf.

1:24 Calsonic Skyline GT-R (R34)

Art.Nr.: 300024219 Art.bezeichnung: 1:24 Calsonic Skyline GT-R (R34) The unrivaled Nissan Skyline GT-R of the 1970's Japanese touring car races valiantly returned to the race circuit in 1990. Equipped with 2.6l, inline 6-cylinder twin turbo engines, two R32 Skyline GT-R's brilliantly triumphed in all six races. Particularly impressive was the bright blue Calsonic Skyline, which achieved five of the six victories to take the series championship. In 1993, the Calsonic Skyline was converted into a GT machine and brought out for the All Japan GT Championships, where it took top honors for three years running. From the middle of the 1995 season, the R33 version of the Skyline GT-R was brought out. The R33 was based on the 4WD production car, but was instead equipped with rear wheel drive. For the 1999 All Japan GT Championships, Nissan brought out a new machine, the R34. Compared to its predecessor, the R33, the R34 was constructed more compactly, with a narrow wheelbase. It was developed to take advantage of the reinforced chassis used on the production model brought out in January of that year. Except for the roof, the body was completely remade in carbon fiber and equipped with a large, curved wing on the rear- just one example of its aerodynamic and stylish form. Undergoing constant improvements since 1990, the inline, 6-cylinder DOHC twin turbo engine of the R34 is maximized with a 6-speed sequential transmission and rear wheel drive. The latest incarnation of the Skyline GT-R, the R34, promises to add more GT Championship Titles to Nissan's illustrious racing history.

Redele drove a modified 4CV, dubbed the Alpine, to victory in the Mille Miglia road race in 1955, and continued to develop new versions based on Renault cars. The Alpine A110 was released in 1963, and was based on the Renault 8. It had a 956cc 4-cylinder engine at the rear and lightweight body shell made of FRP. Front suspension featured the independent double wishbone type, while the rear used swing arms. The A110 proved its ability by dominating road races held throughout the late 60's and early 70's, with its win at the 1971 Monte Carlo Rally undoubtedly crowning the pinnacle of its career. With its successful record and beautiful design, the Alpine A110 is adored by motor sports fans worldwide. Skillful reproduction of the Alpine A110's low and sleek body styling. Art.Nr.: 300024136 Artikelbezeichnung: 1:24 Volkswagen Käfer 1300 1966 Even in this age of sophistication, the popularity of the Volkswagen "Beetle" has not diminished. The original design dates back to the 1930"s when Dr. Ferdinand Porsche provided the design framework for the "People"s Car." Today, with more than 20 million units produced, the Volkswagen Beetle has become a symbol of mass-produced motorization, with no other vehicle exceeding this figure. Built upon the sturdy platform chassis is the amazingly reliable air cooled, flat-four cylinder engine. Suspension is four wheel independent for crisp handling and driving comfort. Although the onset of the Second World War greatly hindered Volkswagen"s marketing opportunities, it made a superb comeback shortly following the conflict, under the skillful guidance of Heinrich Nordhoff. Throughout its production life, the Volkswagen was continuously improved to meet modern automobile standards. An enlarged powerplant displacement and better visibility are two of the notable changes that enabled the Beetle to set standards for the compact car market, decade after decade. The 1966 Volkswagen model is regarded as the classic Beetle, one that retains the most of the original design traits, and it has become a collector"s item. Even today, more than half a century later, watching a nimble street bug is still a pleasant sight to behold, and its unmistakable shape will likely delight generations to come.

1:32 Bo.F-15E Strike Eagle Bunker Buster

Art.Nr.: 300060312 Artikelbezeichnung: 1:32 Bo.F-15E Strike Eagle Bunker Buster About the Boeing F-15E Strike Eagle w/"Bunker Buster" The McDonnell Douglas F-15 Eagle is regarded as one of the most capable twin-engine air-superiority fighters in the world today. Ever since its maiden flight in July 1972, this record breaking Mach 2.5 fighter has been a yardstick for jet fighter design. In the early 1980's, the Air Force requested McDonnell Douglas to modify their F-15 fighter into a dual-role aircraft to be known as the F-15E "Strike Eagle" for use as an air-to-air fighter, and for air to ground attack missions. This new version was designed to penetrate deep into enemy territory unescorted, and strike military targets with pinpoint accuracy. The strike eagle employs two highly reliable Pratt & Whitney F100-PW-229 engines and was designed specifically as a two-person crew of pilot and weapons system officer. The LANTRIN (Low Altitude Navigation and Targeting Infra-Red for Night) system enables the Strike Eagle to operate at night and in bad weather. The Strike Eagle can also be employed with up to an 11-ton payload and can carry the GBU-28 Bunker Buster, a guided bomb developed to destroy strengthened underground bunkers. The Strike Eagle was first deployed in December 1989. During the Gulf War in 1991, 2 squadrons of 48 F-15E Strike Eagles demonstrated their power as multi-purpose fighter/attack planes. 1:32 DeHavilland Mosquito FB Mk.VI

Art.Nr.: 300060326 Art.bezeichnung: 1:32 DeHavilland Mosquito FB Mk.VI The "Wooden Wonder" makes an appearance in highly impressive 1/32 scale! That was the nickname given to the De Havilland Mosquito series of aircraft, an ingenious and beautiful design which saw the versatile airplane made almost entirely of wood. By the late 1930s, when design work on the Mosquito started, metal was the overwhelmingly favored medium. However, the Mosquito's designer foresaw that metal would become a precious resource in the probable war ahead; what was more, his highly lightweight wooden aircraft would be able to outrun heavier metal opponents. Constructed mainly from balsa wood sandwiched between sheets of birch, the Mosquito was originally designed as a weaponless bomber; once the armed forces and designers realized that the aircraft could withstand enemy fire even if it was caught, a number of variants were produced. The FB Mk.VI debuted in Spring 1943: this fighter-bomber variant packed four 7.7mm machine guns in the nose, plus four powerful 20mm autocannons and the ability to mount four 500lb bombs. Its outstanding speed and range ensured that the FB Mk.VI was used in a range of missions, including raids on important targets and infrastructure in the German homeland. It is often said that, until the advent of the Messerschmitt Me262, the German Luftwaffe did not have an adequate response to the "Mossie."

1:32 F-4J PHANTOM II MARINES

Art.Nr..: 300060308 Artikelbezeichnung: 1:32 F-4J PHANTOM II MARINES About the McDonnell Douglas F-4J Phantom II Marines When test pilot Robert C. Little prepared to take off in the YF4H-1 prototype on May 27, 1958, few onlookers could have guessed at the success story yet to unfold. Over thirty years from that faithful day, the successors of that prototype, the Phantom series of aircraft, would be protecting the skies over the free world and see adoption by eleven nations including the U.S. Navy, Air Force and Marines. The Phantom II was developed by McDonnell Douglas and first pitted against Vought's F8U-3 Crusader III to see which aircraft would be the Navy's next main carrier-borne fighter. In 1959, the selection was made in favor of the robust Phantom II. The early production model, the F4H-1F, underwent various tests and training exercises, eventually leading to the F4H-1 model, which was deployed to several Navy and Marine divisions. In 1962, in efforts to unify the names of Navy and Air Force aircraft, the F4H-1F and F4H-1 became designated the F-4A and F-4B respectively. Just after its adoption by the Navy, the Phantom II showed the world what it was made of, breaking record after record, including top-speed, altitude, and time-to-climb. To top off these results, the U.S. Navy ran Project LANA, a transcontinental speed race. The roman L stood for the number 50, for "50th Anniversary of Naval Aviation". The contest was to demonstrate the Phantom's shocking speed and reach. Based on this impressive track record, and on comparative tests against Air Force fighters at the time, it was decided that the next main fighter of the Air Force would also be the Navy's Phantom II. The F-4B version was specially tailored to the needs of the Air Force, and became designated the F-4C. Further improvements to that aircraft resulted in the F-4D model. The Navy continued to make improvements to the Phantom II. Mounting the F-4B with an automatic carrier landing system, yet another variant, the F-4G

1:32 F4U-1 Corsair "Birdcage"

Art.Nr.: 300060324 Artikelbezeichnung: 1:32 F4U-1 Corsair "Birdcage" The F4U-1 Corsair® was a truly unique aircraft, with a powerful 2,000hp engine and a massive 4m propeller, not to mention the highly characteristic inverted gullwings. In October of 1940, it was the first American fighter to achieve a speed of 400mph (around 640kph). Initial production models of the aircraft featured a striking canopy called the "Birdcage". The aircraft took part in operations from February 1943, and with its powerful 12.7mm machine guns proved to be a formidable opponent for the Japanese Zero Fighters. In order to capture the aircraft as accurately as possible, Tamiya designers not only inspected, measured and examined the real aircraft at five different museums across North America, they were also given access to Northrop-Grumman's blueprints. The result is a highly detailed and precise 1/32 scale model of the F4U-1 Corsair.

1:32 Grumman F-14A Tomcat Black Knights

Art.Nr.: 300060313 Artikelbezeichnung: 1:32 Grumman F-14A Tomcat Black Knights About the Grumman F-14A Tomcat "Black Knights" Ever since its first flight in 1970, the U.S. Navy's F-14 Tomcat has been one of the best top Air Defense Fighter. From 1990, in addition to its role as an interceptor, the F-14A, noted for its long range and superior weapons systems was designated as an air-to-ground strike plane. With this new role, the Tomcat was fitted with a new weapons arsenal. Since 1996, the F-14A employs the AN/AAQ-14 targeting pod, referred to as the LANTIRN. This targeting pod gives the F-14A precision bombing capability by procuring targets for nose-mounted infrared laser or other laser guided weapons. The AN/AAQ-14 targeting pod contains a high-resolution, forward-looking infrared sensor (which displays an infrared image of the target to the pilot), a laser designator-rangefinder for precise delivery of laser-guided munitions, target tracking software, and more. The LANTIRN, combined with GBU-16 and GBU-24 guided bombs, enables precision striking with a minute margin of error from several meters down to tens of centimeters. This precision can be realized at long-range. The VF-154 Black Knights is attached to the USS Kittyhawk, homeported at Yokosuka Harbor, Japan. 1:32 Mc Donnell DOUGLAS F-15 EAGL

Art.Nr.: 300060304 Artikelbezeichnung: 1:32 Mc Donnell DOUGLAS F-15 EAGL About the McDonnell Douglas F-15C Eagle At one time during the missile boom years, the U.S. Air Force believed future air battles could be decided by air-to-air missiles rather than guns in the traditional dog-fighting manner. The need for air superiority weapons was relearned during the Vietnam Conflict and led to an Air Force requirement for an all-weather, single-seat, twin-engined fighter. This aircraft was to optimize counter-air operations. The U.S. Air Force requested several manufacturers to study and develop prototypes during the late 1960's under the FX program (Fighter Experimental). McDonnell Douglas was awarded a contract to develop the F-15 Eagle jet fighter in December 1969. The Eagle's advanced aerodynamic design greatly reduced drag at both the low and high lift configurations, and achieved superior maneuverability during varying flight conditions. Making its maiden flight in July 1972, it was deployed in November 1974 as the F-15A Eagle, and had been in active service since then. It is powered by two Pratt & Whitney F100 afterburning turbofan engines developed exclusively for the for the F-15, and is capable of speeds in the Mach 2.5 range. The F-15 can carry a heavy load of devastating weapons, including the internally mounted 20mm M61A-1 Vulcan cannon, with 940 rounds of ammo, the AIM-7 Sparrow radar guided missile and AIM9 Sidewinder short range air-to-air missile. In 1979 an upgraded version of the Eagle was introduced as the F-15C. One notable change was the increase in fuel capacity, but even more fuel was made possible by the conformal fuel tanks, which snuggle between the wings and up against the jet inlet ramps. This increase in fuel capacity enables the Eagle to expand long range operations, such as escorting AWACS and strike aircraft to their targets. The Landing gear has been reinforced to accept the extra fuel weight, allowing a maximum take-off weight of 68,000 lbs (30844 kg). The F
