1:35 US Willys Jeep MB 4x4 (1)

Article number: 300035219 Product: 1:35 US Willys Jeep MB 4x4 (1) Without a doubt the Jeep Willys MB occupies a significant position in the whole automotive history. The origin of the Jeep vehicle dates back to early 1941, when U.S. Forces ordered the Willys, Ford, and Bantam companies to develop prototypes of a small sized multi-purpose 4-wheel drive vehicle. During the early stage of WW2, Germany had achieved outstanding successes by using motorized troops with their "Blitzkrieg" tactics. It became a pressing need for allied nations to possess tough and reliable vehicles with excellent cross-country ability. In November 1941, the Army, with alterations on the front grille and hood to the Ford design, chose the Willy"s vehicle as the basis for the mass production model. This marked the birth of the Willys MB (Model B) that provided unmatched ability to transport Allied troops during the conflict. The early Willys MB had a welded, slat type front grille. Due to the necessity of increasing production, the Army ordered Ford to join the mass production using the Willys MB"s blueprints. It was designated the GPW, and a simple, pressed steelfront grille was introduced. During WW2, the Willys MB and Ford GPW ran over every battlefield. As a means of transit for soldiers, it played an important role in bringing the Allied victory. It was also used for liason, command, communication and sometimes even as an ambulance for a light firearms carrier. Production reached approximately 640,000 units by August 1945.   Warning! 1:35 WWI Brit. Tank Mk. IV Male (mot.)

Article number: 300030057 Product: 1/35 WWI Brit. Tank Mk. IV Male (mot.) Tamiya is delighted to announce its maiden foray into the world of WWI models, in the year which marks the 100th anniversary of the outbreak of hostilities in what was then known as the Great War. The tanks which appeared in the conflict were the first ever seen on the battlefield, and were the forerunners of a whole line of military vehicles which is still being developed further today. The Mk.IV tank was a successor to the Mk.I, which was drawn up by British designers in attempt to break the stalemate of trench warfare experienced on the Western Front; the rhombus-shaped hull was designed to aid in crossing the extensive network of trenches. The Mk.I, first thrown into live action in September 1916 during the Battle of the Somme, had "male" (fitted with 57mm, 6-pound guns) and "female" (fitted only with machine guns) versions. Around 1,000 Mk.IV tanks were manufactured after 1917, and they inherited their shape and male/female weaponry and classifications from the Mk.I, but with significantly upgraded armor. Around 400 were used en masse in the November 1917 Battle of Cambrai to great effect, and with the world cottoning on to the new vehicle’s potential the maiden tank vs. tank battle was not far behind: in 1918, the Mk.IV faced off against its German counterpart the AV7.

1:35 WWII Brit. BT. Matilda Mk.III/IV(3)

Article number: 300035300 Product: 1:35 WWII Brit. BT. Matilda Mk.III/IV(3) At the beginning of 1930, the British army made the decision to produce tanks for different roles, with production of the A12 "Matilda" beginning in 1936. At that time, the Matilda had the thickest armor at 60mm, came armed with a 2-pounder cannon, and had thick side skirts which protected the "Japanese type" bogies. Powered by two diesel engines, the Matilda had a top speed of 24km/hr which was deemed appropriate as it matched the walking speed of infantry. At the North African front, thanks to its impenetrable armor, the Matilda completely defeated the opposing Italian forces. Because of the strength of their armor, the Germans began to use 88mm guns which were the only weapons that could penetrate the Matilda. The Matilda was used throughout WWII and was also used by Soviet, Australian, and Allied forces under the Lend-Lease Act. •This is a 1/35 assembly kit model of the British Infantry Tank Matilda which saw action atthe North African Front during WWII. •Length: 174mm, Width: 72mm. •The Matilda's mechanical form has been accurately reproduced. •The number of parts required for the assembly of the gun turret, hull, and the complicated suspension has been minimized for ease of assembly. •Tall and short cupolas and two types of antennas are included in the kit. •Assembly and belt type tracks are included. •Full-size commander figure, as well as a loader and driver torso figures are included.(Total 3) •3 kinds of decals for the North African front are included. •The Matilda would look fantastic alongside other 1/35 vehicles from the North African front such as German Armored Car Sd.Kfz.223 (Item 35268), German Kubelwagen Type82 (Item 35238), German Armored Car Sd.Kfz.222 (Item 35286), Italian Medium TankCarro Armato M13/40 (Item 35296).   Warning! 1:35 WWII Fren. Tank B1 bis (motor.)

Article number: 300030058 Product: 1/35 WWII French Tank B1 bis (motorized) This is a "motorized" version of the previously released model kit of the French Battle Tank B1 bis. The motorized version allows the modeler to enjoy and experience the excitement of seeing this detailed model kit in motion! Upon the outbreak of WWII, B1 bis tanks stood in the way of German armies determined to strike a crushing blow against France on her own soil. The B1 bis entered production in 1937 and was an upgraded version of the original 1920s-designed Char B1. The rivet-joined hull mounted a short-barreled 75mm howitzer, while a small, one man turret carried a longer-barreled 47mm tank gun. The B1 bis was one of the most heavily armored tanks of its time, with plating that was 60mm thick in places, amply capable of defending it against anti-tank fire such as that from 37mm Pak guns. It could more than hold its own against individual German tanks, and was greatly feared by enemy soldiers who encountered it.     Warning! Not suitable for children under 14 years.

1:35 WWII French Arm. Carrier w/Trai.(4)

Article number: 300032284 Product: 1:35 WWII French Arm. Carrier w/Trai.(4) Always looking for interesting subjects to add to our world-famous 1/35 scale Military Miniatures lineup, we now proudly announce the release of the unique French Armored Carrier UE. Display it with the B1 bis (ITEM 35282) to create an exhibit of early WWII French AFVs. About the Armored Carrier UE Originally developed in the early 1930s, this light armored carrier was capable of towing light artillery and was also designed for use in supplying infantry units at the front lines. Its compact design meant that the heads of the two crew members protruded from the chassis, so distinctive semi-spherical hatches were created to give them a little protection. The initial production of 60 vehicles was soon supplemented by larger orders as France sought to re-equip its army to face the growing threat of Germany. By 1940, approximately 4,800 had been built, including an improved version featuring 4-step gearbox and towing shackles. It was used in the early days of WWII by the French army until its surrender, after which the German army used captured vehicles until the end of the war, modifying some of them into self-propelled guns. About the Model •High-quality 1/35 scale assembly kit model of the Armored Carrier UE. •Headlight and tow hook parts included to depict UE Series 2 and Series 3 variants. •Fine details such as movable cargo compartment (planned), semi-spherical hatches, and towed trailer all accurately reproduced. •Full set of accessories, such as 6 wooden crates, 2 fuel drums, 2 each of both large and small canvas bundles, are included for realistic depiction of cargo loads. •2 crew member torso figures and 2 new French soldier figures with MAS36 rifles in standing poses included for increased diorama possibilities. •3 different types of markings planned.

1:35 WWII Ger. Jagdpanzer IV/70 (V) Lang

Article number: 300035340 Product: 1:35 WWII Dt. Jagdpanzer IV/70 (V) Lang This is a completely new model of the fearsome German tank destroyer Jagdpanzer IV Lang. It is designed from the ground up to be part of the long catalog of models offered in the Tamiya 1/35 scale line up of model kits. The original Jagdpanzer IV tank destroyer was based upon the Panzer IV vehicle and used extensive sloped armor with the 48-caliber 7.5cm gun that had already proven its worth on other vehicles. In January 1944, it was decided to upgrade the Jagdpanzer IV, with the powerful 70-caliber 7.5cm anti-tank gun installed in place of the original 48-caliber weapon. This bigger gun was fitted to the Jadgpanzer IV with the intention of giving it the ability to destroy Allied tanks without even entering their weapons range. It was also the origin of the name Lang, which translates into English as "long". The (V) was applied to vehicles manufactured by the German company Vomag. 930 Jagdpanzer IV /70(V) Lang vehicles were manufactured between August 1944 and March 1945, with German forces taking advantage of the exceptional range of the gun, employing it in both defensive and ambush roles even as their military situation worsened. December 2014 marks 70 years since the Battle of the Bulge, which was effectively the final German offensive of WWII. This model is perfect and right on time to liven up late Second World War dioramas.   Warning! Not suitable for children under 14 years.

Article number: 300035305 Product: 1:35 WWII Ger. Steyr 1500A/01 Africa (4) After WWI, the German military discovered the importance of combined land and air assaults to maximize the damage of the enemy's forces. This strategy, known as the "Blitzkrieg" strategy, amplified the need for reliable transport vehicles. The Austrian-made, 1.5ton, all wheel drive, Steyr 1500A/01 was an 8 passenger vehicle used in a variety of roles such as staff car, HQ transport, artillery tow truck and ambulance. The vehicle was equipped with a front torsion bar, lead spring rear suspension, four speed transmission, air-cooled 8-cylinder 85hp engine, and had a top speed of 100km/h. 1:35 WWII Ger.88mm Flak36 North Afri.(8)

Article number: 300035283 Product: 1:35 Ger. 88mm Flak36 North Africa (8) One of the most well-known stories of WWII involved an interrogation of a captured British tank crewman after the battle at Halfaya Pass. "In my opinion," he said, "it is unfair to use flak against our tanks." A German artilleryman nearby responded "Fine, but I think it most unfair of you to attack with tanks whose armor nothing but an 88 will penetrate." 1:35 WWII Ger.SdKfz.171 Panther A (2)

Article number: 300035065 Product: 1/35 WWII Dt. SdKfz.171 Panther A (2) In the beginning of 1942, in order to fight against the T-34, the German military ordered a new tank from Dymler-Benz and M.A.N. companies with the following specifications: Weight- 35 tons; speed- 60 km/h; armament 75mm long gun and armour, 60mm thick in front hull, 35mm thick in the rear and 100 mm at the front of the gun turret. Lastly, it was specified that the tank be equipped with a Maiback HL210, water-cooled, V-type 12 cylinder engine. In May of the same year, M.A.N.'s model was chosen without waiting for completion of a prototype tank. However, there were 2 important modifications. First, in order to meet the military's demand, considerably more than the original 35 ton weight was needed. Second, the military ordered a change in the thickness of the frontal armour from 60mm to 80mm. Because of these changes, the engine type had to be chanded from HL210 to HL230. Then, in order to accommodate this engine, a much better gear was needed, but mass production began without this last change, which resulted in frequent gear malfunctions and related trouble. This became the Panther's greatest defect. In the same year, Dymler-Benz and Henschel were ordered to produce the Panther. Therefore, production was greatly increased and a total of 6283 Panther Tanks were produced, second only to P2KW-4 in number. The first mass produced Panther type D was not equipped with a machine gun but after the experience of close battle. A 7.92mm MG 34 was added to the Panther's right front hull armament beginning with its type A. The special feature of the Panther was the left and right driving mechanism. This created an interchangeability of movements, using the torsion bar system. By 1944, the Panther was further improved from Type A to Type G with a change in its side shape. The Panther continued its activities against the Allied Forces th Ger. Panther Med. Tank

1:35 WWII PzKpfw. II Ausf.F/G (5) SK.121

Article number: 300035009 Product: 1/35 WWII PzKpfw. II Ausf.F/G (5) SK.121 In the morning of September 1, 1939, the German forces consisting of the 3rd, 4th, 8th, 10th and the 14th Armies invaded Poland all heading for Warsaw, its capital. This was the beginning of the 2nd World War that had shaken the whole world for six years and the Germans made a good show of their war efforts at the start with this violent surprise offensive by massed air forces and mechanized ground forces in close co-ordination, the so-called "Blitzkrieg". It was none other than the Pzkpfw 11 that had played the key role in this Blitzkrieg which started with the invasion of Poland to be followed by break-through of the Maginot-line 7 months later and ended with the surrender of France. In anticipation of the delay in production of the two main strength tanks of the Pzkpfw III and the Pzkpfw IV then under development, the Ordnance Department decided in 1934 to develop a new tank instead to fill the gap. It gave specifications of the proposed new tank to the following three companies - the Mann, the Krupp and the Henschel. The specifications envisioned a tank weighing less than 10 tons and armed with 2 cm and 7.92 mm machine guns, one each. Among the designs of the rivaling three companies presented, the one by the Mann was selected and the Mann in cooperation with the Daimler-Benz developed a first tank of the a1 type in 1935. When 25 tanks of the same type were produced, the tank was officially named, "Panzer Kampfwagen II". After the first 25, another 25 tanks of the a2 type and 50 of the a3 type were produced in succession by 1936. Tanks of these 3 types thus produced were equipped each with a 6-cylinder, 130HP, May-Bach HL37 engine and credited with a maximum speed of 40km/h. However, it was decried that the horse-power was not enough and the engine was replaced with a May-Bach HL-62 one of 140 HP. The frontal armour, too, was reinforced and a new tank

1:35 WWII Sdkfz.251/1 Halft. Hanomag (5)

Article number: 300035020 Product: 1/35 WWII Sdkfz.251/1 Halbk. Hanomag (5) In 1938, the German Army decided to develop an armoured personnel carrier on the basis of the 3-ton half track (HL-KL-9p). Hanomag Hannoversch Machinenbau (AG) in Hannover was ordered to develop the running gear and Bussing-NAG in Berlin was to develop the superstructure to be armoured. Design work was hastened on the model of existing armoured cars and a prototype was completed at the end of 1938. The Germans tested the prototype in the Kumahsdorf Proving Ground and accepted it for mass production. Thus was born the Armoured Personnel Carrier Hanomag Sdkfz 251/1 which, we may safely say, was a synonym for the German mechanized corps that showed activity in all battlefields throughout the war.

1:35 WWII US Tank T26E4 Super Pershing

Article number: 300035319 Product: 1:35 WWII US Tank T26E4 Super Pershing About the M26 Pershing Development of what would become the M26 Pershing began in 1942. It was to be a replacement for the M4 Sherman, which was the standard U.S. Army tank at the time, and features such as a lower profile hull and cast turret were incorporated during the development process of the various prototypes. This eventually culminated in the T26E1 prototype armed with the 90mm M3 gun, and from that stemmed the production version which was called the T26E3. The first T26E3s were sent to Europe in January 1944, and as they were deployed to the battlefield, they were re-designated M26. Although over 300 reached the theater before the end of the war, only 20 actually saw combat. In these limited actions, the M26s proved capable of defeating the German Panther and Tiger tanks they were designed to counter. About the T26E4 "Super Pershing" Although the standard M26 Pershing's 90mm M3 gun was powerful, it was not on par with the German King Tiger heavy tank's gun. Thus the T15E1 90mm gun, which was larger in caliber and fired a one-piece shell at a higher muzzle velocity, was developed. This gun was fitted onto a modified T26E1 prototype, and featured cylindrical stabilizers mounted on the turret to cope with the longer length of the gun barrel. This was the first "Super Pershing" and it was sent to Europe as well, where it was involved in just a handful of engagements against German tanks. The second "Super Pershing" was created by modifying a T26E3. This was designated T26E4 and was armed with a T15E2 90mm gun that fired a two-piece ammunition and a redesigned gun mount to eliminate the need for the stabilizers. This pre-production T26E4 "Super Pershing" was not sent to Europe. The modifications that were tested on this pre-production T26E4 were incorporated into the actual production-spec T26E4s, of which 25 were built before production was canceled

1:48 Bristol Beaufighter Mk.6

Article number: 300061053 Product: 1:48 BRISTOL BEAUFIGHTER MK.6 About the Bristol Beaufighter Mk.VI Bristrol's "Beaufighter" was one of the most successful and widely used twin engines fighter types during WW2. The first series production Beaufighter MK.1 entered service in September 1940. With its four nose-mounted 20mm cannons and six 7.7mm machine guns in the wings, this stub-nosed fighter became the most heavily armed aircraft in service with the RAF during the war. As the German Luftwaffe eventually turned to night bombing in autumn of 1940, priority was put on night fighters and the first operational Beaufighters were fitted with the Airborne Interception (AI) radar, which designated the Mk.1F (F was suffix for Fighter Command). Meanwhile, its rugged construction was thought ideal for long range fighting and escort duties, and the Mk.1C under the Coastal Command became ready for initial operations in late March 1941. Introduction of the more powerful, 1,670hp Hercules VI engines by late 1941 resulted in the Mk.VI. A 7.7mm machine gun being added in the observers canopy for rearward defense, and the horizontal tail plane was modified to have a 12 degree of dihedral, to eliminate the unstable characteristics observed on the preceding types. The Beaufighters saw active service not only above Europe but also in the Mediterranean, North Africa, Middle East and Pacific area. More than 5,900 Beaufighters of various types were produced.   Warning! Not suitable for children under 14 years.
